　　街上的人行色匆匆，大包小包地往家里提，小贩们也挂出了红红的春联和福字。过年前夕，许多人都十分忙。许多去外地打工的人都带着大包小包的年货回老家去。

　　People on the street are in a hurry. They go home in packages and small parcels. The vendors also hang red couplets and lucky characters. On New Year's Eve, many people are very busy. Many people who go to work in other places return home with large packages of new year's goods.

　　大年三十的晚上，妈妈就在厨房做着香喷喷的年夜饭。而我却守候着电视机前，等待着春节联欢晚会的开始。

　　On the evening of new year's Eve, my mother is making delicious new year's Eve dinner in the kitchen. But I was waiting for the TV, waiting for the start of the Spring Festival party.

　　我喜爱的春晚终于开始了，妈妈的`饭菜也准备的差不多了。哇!这一天终于来了!我们立刻开始吃饭了。我先夹了一个白菜馅的饺子，特别好吃，接着妈妈给我夹了一个海鲜味的，我摇摇头：“妈妈，我不喜欢这个味道!”妈妈非让我吃，还笑着说：“这个饺子最甜!”我咬了一口，见一块水果糖在口中，酸甜可口，好吃极了!原来如果吃到了带糖的饺子，这一年都会幸福甜蜜的。在不知不觉中新年到了，我们欢呼起来。

　　My favorite Spring Festival Gala has finally started, and my mother's meal is almost ready. WOW! It's finally the day! We'll start eating right away. I first sandwiched a cabbage dumpling, which was very delicious. Then my mother sandwiched a Seafood Dumpling for me. I shook my head: "Mom, I don't like the taste!" my mother asked me to eat it, but also said with a smile, "this dumpling is the sweetest!" I took a bite, and saw a piece of fruit sugar in my mouth. 　　经过紧张的复习和准备，终于到了5月20日---参加全国小学生英语竞赛决赛的日子。

　　早上八点四十分，我就来到了决赛的场地----四海小学，我找到位子坐下来后，发现周围的同学都很严肃,我也不禁紧张起来。

　　我们华工附小五年级进决赛的有四位同学，分别是五（2）班的何皓霖、劳轩毅，五（3）班的彭承志和五（4）班的我。要知道，他们三个的英语可都是超厉害的呀！而且进入决赛后，竞争对手的实力都很强，我能如愿取得好成绩吗？

　　九点钟，比赛开始了，教室里鸦雀无声，只听到同学们翻动试卷的声音。我也投入到紧张的答题之中。一个小时后，比赛结束。

　　我觉得这次试题不能说很难，但是也不能说很简单。听力部分比较简单，我最怕的智力题竟然也出意料地简单，不过，很可惜，我还是由于粗心错了一题，而且错得非常乌龙：题目中有8张猫的'图片，要我们找出两张一样的，我在把试卷交上去的一瞬间发现，我选的两张图片虽然看上去一模一样，但是两只猫却是一只有胡子，一只没有。唉！这一分丢得太不应该啦！伤心ing。

　　我觉得这次考试的语法和阅读理解部分比初赛难，我自以为自己掌握的词汇量比较多，但是仍然有几个词是我不懂的，这就使我对个别问题的回答不是很有把握。

　　这次考试的作文也不是我们特别熟悉的话题，题目是假设自己的爸爸是个警察，要介绍一下他的工作和生活。虽然我也写了70多个单词（题目要求是不低于60个单词），但是觉得没有以前写作文那么有话说。以前竞赛，我的作文经常是写到100字左右的。

　　考完试跟何皓霖讨论，他觉得题目不难，真是超牛啊！他一定能得一等奖！

　　回来后，妈妈还发现我还犯了两个粗心的错误，呜呜！妈妈说我的最大敌人是粗心！妈妈经常教育我说，不会做的题目错了，没关系。不会，以后再学。但是会做的题目，由于粗心做错了，就太可惜、太不应该了！但是，我却每次考试都要犯粗心的错误。唉唉唉！

　　无论如何，紧张的考试已经结束了，不去想它了！就等着出结果吧！老天保佑啊！

　　我一定要努力改掉粗心的毛病！

　　I spend a lot of time on the homework.. Every day in my Winter Holiday, I always got up late. Then I listened to the tape, it was nine o’clock. Then I ate breakfast and then I did my homework during the daytime! I’m not very slow but the homework was too heavy!

　　What’s more, self-help traveling can bring people a lot of fun. People can visit the site as long as they want, sometimes they can find the interesting things in the small place.
